Or: why the past still offers something no machine can fake
We are not anti-AI at Squire Press. We use AI extensively in our work. But tools are not the same thing as authors — and that distinction matters more now than it used to. In an age of synthetic language, older books offer something increasingly rare: human presence, the oddity of a mind, the texture of a sentence no optimisation process would have chosen.
