A Press Built on
Craft & Collaboration
We believe beautiful, accessible books make the world a better place — and that independent authors deserve the same quality as any major imprint.

Meet Jack Elmy
Squire Press grows out of two decades of shipped work in writing, editing, and graphic design. I've had the privilege of delivering end-to-end print and digital production for publishers and studios like Steve Jackson Games and Atomic Cartoons — packaging, catalogues, covers, interior layout, and copy.
This press stems from a simple belief: that a person must do what they love to give themselves the best chance at success and fulfilment. This blend of editorial craft and visual production underpins the boutique, author-first approach of Squire Press.
My goal is to provide a clear, professional, and collaborative path to publishing for authors who care deeply about the quality of their finished work — and to build a catalogue of beautifully restored classics that deserve a wider audience.
"We publish beautiful, accessible books — curated classics and client titles — using best practices in editing, design, and production. We exist to serve authors who care about the quality of their work." — Squire Press Mission
The Four Principles We Work By
Craftsmanship
Meticulous editing, translation, layout, and design. Every file that leaves this studio has been made with care — not assembled from templates.
Integrity
Clear scope, transparent pricing, and honouring commitments. You'll always know what you're getting, what it costs, and when it arrives.
Service
Collaborative, author-centred support from brief to launch. You get direct access to the person doing the work — no account managers, no handoffs.
Reliability
Realistic timelines, proactive updates, and on-time delivery. Publishing has enough uncertainty — your production schedule shouldn't add to it.
Restoring What Deserves to Endure
Alongside our client work, Squire Press publishes a curated line of overlooked literary masterworks — restored, annotated, and designed for the modern reader. Each title is chosen for its genuine literary quality, not merely its age or obscurity.
We produce editions that are useful as well as beautiful: original introductions, scholarly notes, and modern typesetting that makes the reading experience comfortable and the world of the book accessible.
